Emergency First Aid

Emergency First Aid Courses (EFA) is a basic one-day course that provides the skills required for life-saving first aid, CPR, and basic skills for injuries at home or a workplace. EFA include a CPR and AED certification.


Course Time: minimum 8 hours scheduling, requiring 100% attendance; recertification requiring 5 hours

Prerequisite for this course: none

Certification: The EFA course provides a three year certification; CPR A or C

Manuals: First Aid and CPR Manual and appropriate addenda 


An EFA Course includes the following content:

  • The Red Cross
  • Preparing to respond
  • The EMS system
  • Check, Call, Care
  • Airway emergencies
  • Breathing and Circulation emergencies
  • First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Wound care
